Journal Entry as RVI's Project Coordinator

Reflection on Accomplishments
Since stepping into the role of Project Coordinator with RVI in early February, one of the projects I’ve felt most proud of was refreshing and reorganising our shared Google Drive. It took several weeks of patient, detailed work, but being able to help streamline things into a more accessible and organised system was really fulfilling. I was glad to see it making day-to-day work a little easier for the team.

Challenges Encountered
The Drive clean-up was definitely a long and repetitive process, but I honestly didn’t mind - there’s something satisfying about putting things in order. A bigger personal challenge has been finding my voice in unfamiliar settings. I’ve been joining more events and workshops than I’m used to, and speaking up around new people is something I still struggle with. As someone who’s naturally more reserved and values a bit of personal space, it doesn’t always come easily. It’s something I’m still working on, and while I’m not there yet, each new event helps me open up a little more.

Learning Points
This role continues to show me how much goes into keeping projects running smoothly behind the scenes. I’m learning how to stay on top of timelines, keep documentation organised, and support effective communication across different teams. Through meetings, planning sessions, and supporting events, I’ve come to appreciate how small details can make a big difference.

Goals for Next Period
In the coming weeks, I hope to transition more into the Services side to learn about client and internship management, which ties into my long-standing interest in recruitment and headhunting. I also hope to find a good balance between work and university, so I can continue gaining hands-on experience while learning theory in school.

Feedback and Support Needed
I truly appreciate the support I’ve received so far. As I continue to learn and grow into this role, I hope to keep improving with the guidance of my mentors and colleagues at RVI. If I ever seem a little stretched or behind, I’m always doing my best - and knowing the team understands that really means a lot.
