Fear of Networking Events

Everyone around me has been saying “Your network is your networth” which is something that I do agree but I found it to be scary to network especially by myself or in a unfamiliar room with people

When I attended my first “networking event” by myself, it all seem so foreign to me as if it’s just a bunch of adults talking and making friends and saying business like stuff that I didn’t fully understand.

It was also so nerve wrecking to put myself out there and barge in a conversation to talk to someone and “network” and scanning linked in QR codes.

However, after “networking” with a few individuals I found a different perspective on networking as to potentially talking to someone in the exchange for some kind of value, I see it as getting to know someone better who is outside of my circle with different experiences and life stages.

Which I found really interesting to learn more about them! Some even from different countries and learning about their passions and things that they built really impresses me to also be passionate in what I do and act upon it!

Unexpectedly I do love the conversations I had and I found common interests too with others! And maybe networking even with isn’t that bad after all!
