What I learnt throughout my Poly Journey !

I wanted to share about my 4 year poly journey and as I'm coming to graduate soon. I realised that it has been a WILD journey with many ups and downs, internal struggles, lots of self doubt, imposter syndrome as well as being so overwhelmed with everything and chasing after that grade.

I'm grateful that I received a place in a few universities and accepeted my place in NUS! And with diploma with merit! if you told me 2 years ago about this, I wouldn't have believed you at all...

Looking back at my journey in media school, I thought that having assignments and no exams would be a dream but turns out I was so wrong.

I was reminded of my year 1 sem 2 where I had a bad experience working with group mates that were quite against me (for some reason) extremely uncooperative and gaslighting me... To submitting deadlines to the last minute and even submitting it late multiple times. As well as multiple bawling sessions after that and being extremely worried about my grades.

I felt that definitely year 2 was the toughest period for me, where I was juggling between assignments, group projects, part-time work, volunteer work at church, relationships with family and my then partner, sports CCA trainings, competitions and external trainings AND my then new role leading a student club (it was not it haha)

I'm really grateful for having amazing and supportive friends, constantly pushing through our assignments wanting to BAG that A haha. If it weren't for them and the support system, I wouldn't have been here. Really grateful for all the opportunities that I received too, from overseas trips even to leading a new EXCO group and student club!

With so many different aspects and me being me.. I wanted to do well in every aspect and area, and wanting to put in my all. It was definitely challenging and a major struggle for me, as I wanted to pick up my grades in year 2 from year 1.

Though there were many challenges along the way, it taught me really important lessons throughout which made me reflect and grow to the person I am today! It was also one of the most fun times that I had too throughout.

Felt that I really pushed myself to my boundaries, recieved so many opportunities that I never knew I would have got just by saying yes to things!

Moral of the story is to say yes to opportunities and things even if they scare you alot... Don't be afraid of failure and keep pushing, though it may seem tough but the rewards are worth it! I do strongly believe that you can achieve what you aspire to be, if you put your heart into it and try :)
