Sparking Dialogue, Strengthening Democracy

🌱 Last week, as part of my CAYA Fellowship journey, I had the privilege of hosting a Youth Political Participation Workshop.

What struck me most was the courage and clarity with which the students engaged. A few raised concerns around the recent Nepal Gen Z protest, connecting it with setbacks youth often face closer to home. Their perspectives and thought-provoking views broadened my own understanding of the challenges—and opportunities—that lie ahead for our generation.

Through these conversations, I felt I was not just sharing, but also learning and unlearning. More importantly, I could sense a spark being created—a realization among them about the true value of democracy and the vital role young people play in shaping decisions that affect their future.

Moments like these remind me why such dialogues matter. It’s not about one workshop, but about building a culture of youth voice, agency, and participation that extends far beyond it.
