I will be talking about how one of my hobbies, "photography", turned into something I would love to do in the future.
In the past, my family loves taking pictures together overseas. I always felt annoyed because I would be doing something personal and they would just call me abruptly. It was only until a trip to Thailand that I got into the beauty of photography. The first photo is above.
After the trip, I took more photos of not just Thailand, but other countries I went to like Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. I learnt that photography wasn't just taking pictures flimsily, but it is a media of art itself. I also learnt that a picture could hold one's memory, as this picture I took was special. My extended family commented that it looked really good, even comparing it to professional photos. I felt surprised at such compliments, then felt motivated to take even more.
To hone my photography skills, I experimented with taking pictures of different environments. Switzerland's snowy landscape, Saudi Arabia's beautiful architecture at night and Japan's bustling streets. I always ask my family for feedback on how I can improve which always motivates me. However, I also realised something that flaws my skills.
I dislike group pictures very much, especially when I am forced to be in the picture itself instead of being the one to take it. I also dislike selfies. I'm just unable to capture a decent shot of myself with a clear background. Nonetheless, I still love taking pictures of anything that catches my eye.
In the future, I wish to be able on pursuing and continuing to hone my skills of such a passion. Whether it's during a wedding or the side of rock climbers, nothing is stopping me from taking a picture, and further it into videography.
