This is a recent piece that I created on women's rights. To me the ability to be able to make my own choices and have a voice that can be heard is vital. It is a luxury that I am able to afford in todays time and age. It is something that my ancestors did not have back in ancient china. Some girls today still are not able to voice out their opinions and make their own choices. This art piece is a oxymoron, depicting women in a dance hall in ancient china, where two girls are treated as “robots” bounded by their ropes and mask to be mindless obeying servants. In contrast there is a girl breaking free from the ropes and regaining her freedom and colour in her life. the mask shows that they don't have their own identity and there is no difference between them and a puppet.
