As a fourth-year Bachelor of Secondary Education student, I attended the River Valley Irregulars Career and Personal Development Workshop-Seminar to gain valuable insights that would help me prepare for my future profession. My goal was to learn practical strategies for personal growth, career readiness, and portfolio development that I can apply as I transition from being a student to a professional educator.

Before attending the seminar, I prepared by reflecting on my career goals, identifying the skills I wanted to improve, and keeping an open mind to learn from the experiences and advice shared by the speaker. I was eager to discover ways to present myself professionally and build a strong foundation for my future career.

During the workshop-seminar, I learned the importance of creating a portfolio that tells a story about one's growth, achievements, and experiences. The speaker emphasized that a portfolio should not only showcase accomplishments but also explain the process, challenges, and lessons learned throughout the journey.

I also gained knowledge about career development, personal branding, professional communication, and the importance of continuous learning. The seminar helped me understand how to present my skills, experiences, and reflections in a meaningful way that can leave a positive impression on future employers and professional colleagues.

Through this workshop-seminar, I learned how to organize and present information effectively in a portfolio, making it more engaging and professional. I also gained a better understanding of career preparation and the importance of documenting personal and academic achievements.

Beyond the technical knowledge, I developed greater self-confidence, professionalism, and self-awareness. The seminar taught me the value of reflection, continuous improvement, and lifelong learning, the qualities that will help me become an effective and dedicated future educator.
