Today did not go like how I thought it would.
Firstly, we went to a coffee plantation which was a pretty fun tasting experience. There were many different varieties of coffees and teas respectively. Pleasant tastes that I really enjoyed however, the true highlight of this trip was the sight of the Civet cat. The joker did not look like a cat at all, bro looked like a raccoon and just like me bro jst slept all day. It was hyper when we were fast looking at it but not even 1 minute passed, bro fell asleep. One of my favourite animals from now on, their adorable.
Moving on we then went to the resort where we heard more about sustainability initiatives and stepped into the muddy field to plant rice.
The talks held by the speaker gave much insights into the situation at hand. They provided many explanations and pictures for easy understanding. Once again today I understood even further the effectiveness and efficiency of the Singapore waste management system.
Bali trying to adopt similar systems by the government however, none if it was successful and led to the current situation at hand. The different initiatives they had done in place, ways on how tourists could also contributeto sustainability. It helped give me new ideas, avenues and perspectives from the actions taken from a different business.
The next activity of finding different ways to collaborate with other organisations for sustainability was an intriguing activity. Apart from seeing the capabilities and chemistry of my team I was able to see the other groups ideas.
Social Media marketing, vibrating fans, each idea had a well thought out reason and structure. Most of them didnt enter my creativity circle and inspired me to think deeper and expand my perceptions more. I think it showed me once again the different opinions formulated from everyones different background and experiences. Some ideas formed from expertise they had, some thought of just from observing others. It was a good indication to learn more and continusly expand my creativity as a whole.
Well the highlight of the day and did not go as expected at all for me was the paddy field. Highkey I was not looking forward to it at all but I did enjoy it. It felt like my childhood, I just played, got dirty and moved on.
Firstly throwing compost sounded hella disgusting but it just felt like throwing soul all around. Basically with the idea of washing up after, I tried keeping an open mind like what was told and honestly it did make the whole experience better. I must say that out of everything that happened, keeping an open mind was the most valuable thing I took back.
Seeinf the good, not judging before even experiencing I took the action first and decide later approach. I am Glad I did, it became such an enjoyable experience for me, if I had not done that my day would have been sour instead. I took the lesson learnt yesterday and tried applying it.
Seeing the positive in my situation, instead of seeing it as something that had no benefit or fun whatsoever, I changed my perspective and saw it as an enjoyable experience. An outing with my friends I was entertained the whole time. Instead of hating on the situation the whole time, I saw it as an opportunity to garner more insights, experience more and fill out my bubble of life.
Well the last event of the day was the art market. Never have I realised how important bargaining truly is. Growing up as a chinese asian child, I was brought to my grandmothers district where I watched her hustle her way through to get the best possible discount, like damn I ddint know it was not common. Watching my friends get scammed I tried my best to lower the prices, I was successful but damn those jokers were hella persistent.
Lowballing, increase the prices slowly and keeping my position as a buyer I kept on trying to fight my way to get the best prices. It was pretty entertaining honestly, I am lucky I have experience in Singapore.
Honestly, nothing much today unfortunately but those are my thoughts yahoo.
