So i run a DND campaign as a dm. DM means dungeon master and is in charge of setting up the game and the story that the players play through.

Being a DM comes with several challenges. For example usually DM's need to try and come up with a story, a Plot for the players to play through. This in itself is quite challenging as the DM needs to try to connect the dots of the story and try to keep it consistent and engaging for the players.

Another problem is due to the nature of DND being a Co-Op story telling game, the DM may be able to make a story and a standard plot but the thing with dnd is the players can play however they like as long as it follows the basic concept of the world and abilities the DM created. So if a player does something totally out of the DM's planned route interesting stuff starts happening.
This is where Improv comes in. 90% Of the time DND will get brought off rails and the players will go off into a different event. This is where the DM will need to use their imagination and improvise new events and interactions on the spot. Keeping the game unpredictable and Interesting. From this i have learned to Improvisation and Creative thinking under constant preassure.

Another thing i have learned is game balancing. In DND there is combat, in game combat. Players will normally start of at level 1-4 and will then need to level upas they play with Level 20 being the max. The main struggle of this is trying to balance the encounters so that the fight does not feel too harsh. For example if you were to make your level 1 players fight a level 13 monster at the start, the fight will feel very bad and make the players feel terrible.Going through this has taught me how to properly understand and balance situations to make the game feel fun, engaging and not too one sided.
