Crash Course on Capitalism & Money

I don't think I've read a single book ever since I stopped studying literature when I was 18. But recently, I bought my first book since then (albeit still a comic book).

I think I have been going through a low period in my life recently even though I feel like it shouldn't be the case. I realise I have been lacking discipline in small things like taking my vitamins, skincare, exercising, etc. I am back to getting addicted to my mobile games.....

This book gave me a little bit of joy in my life, supporting a company that I have been following ever since they started, and also giving me some directions for myself to get myself back on track.

It is super relatable for people like me, graduating into a terrible economy, and constantly worrying about the future, but also gave me some hope that I am not alone on this boat and many others are too. We are all just little ships on this big ocean trying to stay afloat together.

The chapter I enjoyed the most was "The realities of the 2020s". Stealing a quote that they quoted (John Adams), " I must study politics and wat that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.

My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."

I am truly blessed to have been through the journey that I have walked that led me up to this point in my life. I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to study design, something that till this date I am still passionate about. But at the same time, what must I do or what must I sacrifice to make the world a better place for the next generation?

This isn't like my other portfolio post where I document my learnings, but this is me reflecting on my own thoughts and feelings towards the things I have learnt from this book.
