I am an Adult now. :(

I felt like a grown adult on 6 April, where I attended Seedly’s Personal Finance Festival for the first time!

Finance has always been a topic that I HATE to talk about because capitalism SUCKS T.T and also because I am always broke (do you relate?!><) But as I started working, I start to see the importance of managing my finances and how it is possible to live a comfortable life if I manage it properly!

Anyways back to the event, I attended it with my best friend Ashraf, who booked out tickets in January. It was meant to be a surprise birthday celebration for him too since his birthday was in the same week.

When we reach the location, I was surprised to see the scale to which the different exhibitors managed their booth set-up. It was very elaborate and there were a lot of freebies that were given out on the day itself(not surprising as most of them are big banks!)

We went straight to the stage set up to listen to the opening dialogue between Seedly’s founder and Minister Tan See Leng. It was very insightful to hear about the outlook of Singapore and how there is an increased focus on the youths in Singapore.

We then sat in for another two talks, on investments in the SEA region, and another one on personal insurance. I felt that the topics were either too in-depth for me, or too simple and were things that I already knew.

Personally, I was very impressed with how they managed to plan the event to such a scale. Seedly is still a pretty small start up and to build their brand to such scale, I think it was pretty admirable that they have such a big turnout. The marketing and design branding were all very consistent and not too overwhelming, and the slide designs were on brand too.

I personally hope that we at RVI can build the company to such a scale, being the forefront of the youth sector in South East Asia. Have you been attending any event recently? Share with me your thoughts!
