Why I joined my CCA

For someone who enjoys interacting with people, making new friends, and being involved in events and projects, my insecurities and constantly worrying about what others might think of me used to be a huge hurdle.

Back in secondary school, I always admired the Student Councillors. They seemed so confident and capable, planning school events and working closely as a team. However, since I was known as the most reserved person in class, I never had the opportunity.

I kept reassuring myself that if I wanted to grow, I needed to let go of my insecurities and take that first step. With that mindset, I entered JC determined to pursue my long-term goal of joining the Student Council.

Although I wouldn’t say I’m excelling in my CCA, what truly matters is that I’m trying my best and genuinely enjoying the experience. I’ve made many wonderful friends and cherish every single session. Of course, there are challenges and imperfections, but each experience has given me valuable insights that help me grow and become a better version of myself.
