Day 7 Reflection

We had the opportunity to present our ideas and observe the innovative solutions proposed by other groups. My team focused on brainstorming initiatives for sustainable tourism, including expanding the MPH project to urban areas and increasing the number of waste processing facilities near cities. We also proposed strengthening waste management systems in collaboration with hotels and villas. These initiatives aim to create jobs for locals, enhance waste management practices, and improve the reputations of participating companies.

Another idea we shared was curating unique immersion programmes that allow tourists to experience the daily lives and lifestyles of locals in both countries. This fosters a deeper understanding of local cultures while generating economic benefits for communities. Additionally, we suggested that the tourism boards of both countries sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enable businesses to deduct expenses related to cultural preservation. This would encourage more collaborations and promote sustainable practices between the two nations.

I also had the chance to connect with the speakers and panellists, learning more about their stories and exploring potential avenues for collaboration. Overall, it was an engaging and productive day, enriched by insightful discussions and the opportunity to learn from experts in diverse fields of interest and expertise.
