What interesting i hobby learnt this year

This year i chose to make my own pc as my old pc was starting to break down on me and when i did research and knew more about pc parts i realized that pre builts aren't as good as they are, that's when i decided that i wanted to build my own pc so that all the parts are quality instead of one part is good and the other part is cheapened out.

I wasnt considering to build a new pc but half way through the year my pc started to fail on me due to its age and old specs and couldn't handle school work.

Everyday i constantly watched tutorials from youtubers like LinusTechTip and ZTT, their videos helped me a lot to gain knowledge about what the different parts did

CPU- CPU, or Central Processing Unit, is the computer's "brain" that executes program instructions, performs calculations, and manages data. The Cpu which is the most important part of the build was the first part i learnt about and ended up choosing the ryzen 9700x for the brain of my computer

GPU- A Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to accelerate graphics rendering and image processing tasks. The gpu was the second part i learnt and decided to pick up the 5070ti as it was brand new and just came out on the market and could handle my school workload without a problem.

PSU-A computer's Power Supply Unit converts AC electricity from a wall outlet into the DC electricity needed to power internal components. I learnt how to calculate the total watt i need to power up my system and picked up a 850w psu from thermalight

SSD-An SSD, or solid-state drive, is a data storage device that uses flash memory chips to store data electronically. Because of the games i play and the applications i had to install for school i went on to get 2TB to install my school software and my games without worrying about storage

RAM-RAM, or random access memory, is the short-term memory for a computer, holding data for active programs to be accessed quickly by the CPU. i took a 64GB ram so that it could handle all the workload

these are the few examples i learnt about pc parts while trying to build a pc.

I was starting to regret buying parts and building it myself and got nervous that i would break a part because of the cost and in the end when i put together all the parts i was happy and ended up enjoying the process now i want to build more pcs and learn more about it
