My Internship Experience: It is Good to Be Trusted

Not all companies take interns seriously, but Konti and Potato Production do.

On my first day at Konti, they launched a new data visualization platform called Lapis.

Check it out; it's really cool.

Naturally, one of my main tasks was to contribute to Lapis, which included UX writing, UX marketing, user testing, and so on.

Coming from a journalism background, I believed my skills were related to these tasks. However, I had never done any UX writing or user testing before.

My editor asked me to come up with a structure for the help center on Lapis. This was not an easy task, considering the various and complex functions and nuances of a tech platform like Lapis, not to mention that I had never done UX writing before.

“It’s my first time doing UX writing,” I told my editor.

“Well, we trust you, and we can learn together,” said my editor.

I then spent the next few weeks learning from other websites and platforms like Notion, Flourish, and Medium.

The structure needed to be inclusive and clear so that users could easily navigate to the right content.

I revised the structure at least four times before giving the final version to my editor. I learned so much along the journey.

My editor and other colleagues left comments and their thoughts, which were super helpful.

I am still working on Lapis now. I didn't expect that before I joined Konti, but I guess that is the best part of an internship: being trusted with a new challenge.
