The pre-event gave me enough knowledge and direction to know how to approach this hackathon. Hearing every speaker’s advice and learning from the knowledge they shared gave me a better understanding of what to expect and how to take on the experience. Since this is my first hackathon and part of my effort to build my career, their insights gave me the confidence to step into this experience. Beyond that, being able to immerse myself in a community of like-minded people and learn from new perspectives made the experience even more enriching.

Day 2 gave me a deeper understanding of UI/UX and how users naturally interact with digital products. I learned that effective design is not only about making an interface look good, but also about making it intuitive, functional, and easy for users to navigate. The discussions helped me understand how to approach our design from the users’ perspective and make decisions that better support their needs and experience. This gave me a stronger foundation for creating a design that is both effective and purposeful for our hackathon project.

I was unable to join the live webinar due to my preliminary exams, but I reviewed the recording afterward. I learned how systems thinking helps us understand how different parts of a system affect one another and how small problems can create larger consequences. I also learned that systems engineering and understanding the problem should come before designing applications or coding solutions.

This workshop helped me understand that joining NASA Space Apps is not just about making a cool project, but about solving a clear problem using real NASA data. I also learned that storytelling, creativity, and feasibility are just as important as the technical side.
