I've been following this game for almost 8 years, countless rewatch of the playthrough and replays from the PSP version of the game, it didn't fail to blow me away because of the storyline and the beloved characters from Persona 3.
What got me came across Persona 3 or mainly the Persona series is because of a YouTube Video playthrough made by Kubz Scout years ago, the story and character is what gotten me into the game.
Persona 3's concept is about life and death, it has it's meaning in it's unique ways story wise.
While the main game has it's own charm that the fans love for years, the after-story includes hours long gameplay which Persona 3: FES includes, yes it has another installment with the expanded storyline takes place after the main game called: The Answer.
Everyone, including myself love the closure to the protagonist's journey and learning about what happened, it is quite heart wrenching that's just part of this game's charm: Angst.
Now, my personal favorite... Persona 3 Portable, yes it's a PSP installment, but what's special about this installment it's the Female Protagonist option, sure it doesn't fully affect the story, but you can prevent some major character's terrible fate, well a CANON death... Another favorite part of it is the romance option for the male characters, just like the male's romance option for the female characters, despite the PSP quality but i appreciate the change in regards to story, i pay no mind to the quality.
Of course Persona 3 has it's own spin off game, sometime it's crossover however it's NOT CANON to the main timeline.
Now for the miscellaneous part.
The manga have extended dialogues and lore, which makes the character more interesting and charming, though some backstories have yet to be told, not much to say about it, but the art style are amazing.
The novel, specifically Persona 3: Shadow Cry, which focuses on the Antagonists: Strega in one of the character: Jin Shirato's perspective, though the novel is sadly not translated, from what I've seen so far it tells us more about the backstories of Strega, that's the rough idea I have, but i'm glad they have the spotlight since this game's Antagonist is very underrated.
Now my favorite: Persona 3: The Weird Masquerade, it's a Stageplay and it is underrated and it's only on Japan, but I'm able to find those video on YouTube with translated subtitles, the reason why the Stageplay is my favorite is the actor, they portray the characters very well and especially the storyline, all are fully elaborated and makes Persona 3 feel sort of completed, at least that's what I feel.
The reason why I make this review is because the remake: Persona 3 Reload got announced this year and will be released on February next year.
I'm very pleased of what I've seen so far from the trailers, especially the Antagonist getting their stories expanded, I'm very happy that they're able to shine on the remake.
That's it for my review, thanks for reading!
