Taking Action: Bringing Youth Political Participation to My Community 🌏✨
Being a CAYA Fellow isn’t just about attending workshops and learning from brilliant minds across Asia—it’s about stepping up and making an impact. And that’s exactly what I tried to do in my community. 💪
After our intensive workshop on Youth Political Participation during the fellowship, I felt a strong responsibility to take what I had learned and share it with others back home. I realized that understanding policies, voting rights, and civic engagement is powerful—but even more powerful is passing that knowledge on.
So I planned and conducted a workshop on youth political participation in my community. This wasn’t just a casual chat; I designed it to be interactive, engaging, and relevant. We discussed why political participation matters, how young people can influence decisions, and even did hands-on exercises to help participants identify avenues for real impact.
The experience was eye-opening. Many of the youth I engaged with had never thought their voices could make a difference. By the end of the session, I saw curiosity, enthusiasm, and a spark of confidence in their eyes. They began to understand that participation isn’t just a civic duty—it’s a tool for change. 🌟
For me, this was transformative too. Conducting the workshop made me realize that leadership isn’t just about ideas; it’s about taking responsibility, translating knowledge into action, and inspiring others. It reinforced why initiatives like the CAYA Fellowship exist: to empower youth to not just learn, but to lead, share, and create impact.
I’m proud to have taken that step, but this is just the beginning. My goal is to continue empowering more young people, creating platforms for engagement, and showing that our voices matter—whether online, in communities, or in policymaking spaces.
