Day 2: Youth Political Participation Workshop – Why It Hit Different ✨

If Day 1 was about discovering the power of digital portfolios, Day 2 was all about discovering the power of our voices. We dove deep into youth political participation, and honestly—it was the kind of session that makes you stop scrolling and think. 😅

The discussion started broad: Why do young people often feel disconnected from politics? Why are policies shaped without our input, even though we’re the ones living with the consequences? And then came the truth bomb: youth aren’t the future—they are the present, and every decision being made today impacts us right now.

We explored different ways young people can engage—voting, activism, policy advocacy, digital campaigns, community projects—and I realized how much potential there is to actually shape change if we just step up. It wasn’t just theory; we did exercises analyzing local and regional policies and brainstormed actionable solutions. That’s when it clicked for me: participation isn’t optional—it’s necessary.

For me personally, this session was transformative. I’ve always cared about global and local issues, but sometimes I felt small, like my voice wouldn’t matter. Seeing fellow youth from different Asian countries share their experiences, their successes, and even their failures, made me realize that impact isn’t about scale, it’s about intention and consistency. 💡

I left the workshop inspired to do more than just “stay aware.” I want to actively engage, start discussions, influence policies—even in small ways—and encourage other youth to do the same. It also made me think about my portfolio differently: this isn’t just a record of achievements—it can be a platform to showcase advocacy, ideas, and action.

Day 2 reminded me that being young doesn’t mean waiting for the world to notice you. It means noticing the world, and then showing up. 💪🌏
