As a student leader, I would like to extend my sincere commendation and appreciation to KAWSA Philippines for successfully organizing and hosting the “Claim Your Space: The Role of Women, Men, and LGBTQIA+ in the Movement for Safe Spaces” National Youth Forum.

The event was not only timely but also deeply relevant, especially in today’s generation where awareness, respect, and inclusivity must be continuously strengthened in our schools and communities. The discussions on the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), SOGIESC awareness, and digital ethics were highly informative and empowering. Each session provided us with practical knowledge and a clearer understanding of our roles, not just as students, but as advocates of safe, inclusive, and respectful environments.

As a participant, I truly appreciate how the forum went beyond theoretical discussions and offered actionable insights, such as promoting active bystandership, strengthening peer accountability, and utilizing tools like the Safe Space Blueprint. These will greatly help us, as student leaders, in initiating meaningful programs and policies within our respective schools.

Moreover, the initiative of bringing together diverse student leaders from across the country helped build a strong sense of unity and shared responsibility. It reminded us that creating safe spaces is a collective effort—one that requires courage, awareness, and consistent action.

Once again, I commend KAWSA Philippines for this impactful initiative. May you continue to lead and inspire more youth-driven programs that empower student leaders and promote safe, inclusive, and transformative spaces for every Filipino learner.
