CHAIRING IS CARING

The Blueprint for Better Diplomacy ⚖️

At River Valley Irregulars, we believe great leaders aren’t just born, they’re built behind the scenes, through experiences that push youth to step up, speak out, and lead with intention.

That’s exactly what happened yesterday when RVI partnered with Global Youth Ambassadors MUN to host “How to Chair & Organize Your Own MUN Conference” at Gyud Food Hub, UP Diliman. Students from the FEU HS Speech and Debate Society and FEU HS HUMSS Society joined us to take a bold leap, from being delegates to learning how to run the show themselves.

This is the kind of opportunity RVI is built to create: safe, supportive spaces where youth gain real skills, real networks, and the real confidence to shape their own futures.

Our incredible lineup of speakers shared their personal playbooks:

🎤 Justin Marty Tomilas — the basics of organizing and launching your own MUN

🤝 Jerome Justin Salazar — how to build a strong, supportive working team

🌍 Alexandra Nicole Aquino — choosing themes and topics that matter

After a powerful Q&A, one lesson stood out: chairing isn’t about sitting at the front with a gavel. It’s about teamwork, empathy, and creating room for every voice to be heard.

This is the RVI way. We don’t just talk about youth empowerment, we open doors to it. Whether through workshops like this, our internship programmes, or the RVI platform, we’re committed to giving every Irregular the tools to lead, the community to grow with, and the opportunities to thrive.

Because at the end of the day, chairing truly is caring. And so is building a generation of youth who care enough to lead.
