What is Formiculture?
Formiculture is the practice of ant keeping and how people observe the little things ants do including creating a sustainable habitat for a queen and her colony to thrive. Commonly used for people and citizens who keep ants as a hobby as a pet.
My hobby of being a Formiculturist
I have personally been a fan of Ant keeping for years and its only recently in 2024 where I got my first ant colony, a carpenter ant species scientifically called "Camponotus Parius" a beautiful and easy to keep species of ants in Southeast Asia slowly in the span of a few months, I got many other species of ants, with some failing to succeed whilst others thrived. Currently of early-mid 2026, I have a handful of ant species, such as the Harvester ant (Messor Barbarus), Carpenter ants(Camponotus Albosparsus and Camponotus Nicobarensis) and other species.
