I am currently studying Electronic Engineering at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central and have been doing so for the past 11 months. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues in my course or college life. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a CCA that suits me yet, but I’m looking forward to joining at least one next year, as it's already too late right now.
I began studying retail back in secondary 3 and even took part in a 16 day work experience program from early November to December at a now closed retail store called BHG in Bishan. I’ve always been interested in pursuing retail within the business sector, but unfortunately, ITE had other plans and assigned me to Electronic Engineering instead.
In my engineering classes so far, I’ve learned how to solder small components onto circuit boards and understand the functions of different wires. I’ve also studied basic cybersecurity and its various categories. Over time, I discovered that I have a natural skill for hardware, and I can now identify and understand different components such as capacitors, LEDs, and more, my skills is more of pointing out components and a bit of error finder.
Although there were many roadblocks along the way, I managed to overcome them with the help of my close friends through trial and error, even when we had limited time. If a question was unclear, we would ask our teachers for guidance and assistance. During group projects, I also made sure to discuss ideas and solutions with my teammates.
