As part of the CAYA Advocacy Fellowship, I had the opportunity to facilitate another in-person session at the Institute of Land and Disaster Management , a government institute that provides specialized training in disaster management.

This session was conducted with 20 youth pursuing an MBA in Disaster Management, focusing on Youth Political Participation (YPP). It was truly rewarding to step into the role of a facilitator and create a space where young people could reflect on their voices in the current system.

The students openly shared their perspectives how youth voices are often overlooked, the barriers they face in political participation, and the cultural norms that continue to shape participation in India. Group discussions turned out to be especially powerful, as each team brought forward meaningful reflections and a strong desire for change.

Moments like these remind me why engaging youth in conversations on political participation is so important their insights are not only valid but essential for building inclusive systems.
