CREATING HUMANS

In January 2021, I started the development of the most important project of my life so far.

After a deep analysis of the most impactful challenges in my community and my capability to start helping in some way, I decided to start working on a new proposal for an educational model to be applied in the Mexican system.

The process of Creating Humans started with the research into the structure of the educational system in Mexico and its progress over the years, also in the pedagogical theory of Maria Montessori and Paulo Freire from their books "The Montessori Method" and "The pedagogy of the oppressed". Furthermore a series of interviews and additional research with comparative analysis of the different educational models of developed countries.

The model was settled as four stages of education focused on the engagement of soft/natural skills of students toward their passions and their role in civic engagement.

Germination; Where the purpose is to find these soft skills the student has naturally.

Steem; Provide an environment that can give the student an overview of the world and help them find areas of interest as well as passions.

Tree; Adress those soft skills to the student's passions and interests and work to strengthen them.

Fruits; Here is where the student develops the project with the purpose of contributing to the progress of the community.

Once I could formulate the prototype of the model I launched a pilot test of it with an initial group of 7 students, individually and during one month. The results were very favorable at the point the project was selected by the partnership between Schmidt Futures and Rhodes Trust RISE. After presenting it to the program I was selected as a Rise Global Winner with an acceptance rate of 0.05%.

In August of the same year, after a second pilot test, Creating Humans evolutionated as a non-profit organization that engages teenagers in altruism through altruistic campaigns.

In the new path of Creating Humans, group is an active participant in furnishing campaign for helping vulnerable sector of the community and also an active contributor to the Nursing Home in Tehuacán, Puebla.
