First Community service overseas

At first, I was quite scared to join this overseas community service as it was my first time I was given the chance to volunteer at another country which is Cambodia and also I was the only one from my class going for this trip. I was afraid that I wont be able to make new friends and not able to help my teammate when doing project as I did not have any past experience. However, before this oversea trip, we had a bonding chance with each other and I found out that I m not the only one without any past overseas experience and everyone have different strength and weakness. After the bonding, I managed to make new friends and learning more about each other. During the oversea trip, we not only help the kids there but also bond with them and get to know them as well as their culture better which was an eye opener for me. I was able to talk to them and played different games with them which is very fun and memorable for me. I was also able to teach the kids at their school and also painted their school with my teammate. We also went to the orphanage where we cooked for the kids there and also spend time by playing games with them. We also went to different household in Cambodia to give out some gift we packed and some food that we made. This experience really shaped who am I now as I m now able to understand them more and really feel like I m doing something good for the society. Even though its not in Singapore, but I still like this experience and will go for similar trip again
