A myth, repeated so often it calcifies into truth—that is, until someone dares to press against it.

For most of us, the very idea of political participation feels like a door marked “adults only.” But if we’re the ones living with the consequences of choices made without us, then aren’t we already part of the system, even when it pretends we’re invisible?

The Movers Workshop on youth political participation cracked that open for me. Not by pretending the path is smooth, but by showing the ways we can step in, whether through conversation, collaboration, or simply daring to ask harder questions. By attending, I’ve now become eligible to host a workshop of my own. And that’s the beauty of it: a process of multiplication, where each of us carries the spark forward, lighting fires in places we may never see but will always feel.

Because even a tapestry starts with one thread.
