Honestly, I hate the idea of building a portfolio. Contradictory, I know, because I am creating one on this platform right now. Let’s make a change, let’s make an introduction and let’s take a step. That being what I decided, I hope you find this journey interesting and unique maybe even fun 🤩 (fyi the dude in the picture is my friend that has fully consented to using this picture)
Firstly, in this programme, we were put into a somewhat euphoric episode of self discovery, being told to close our eyes and imagine us holding “truths”, a warm light ball on our right hand and the complete opposite on the other. It emphasised that we can take in completely opposing ideas as people, and though we may take different journeys that deviate from our initial goals, that we are able to adapt to them seamlessly (or so I hope haha).
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to sharing my experiences, to be completely fair, it’s cumbersome and I’m a withdrawn person. When I really thought about it, I joined SP to see a change in my character, I want to interact with more peoples in and out of formal settings and I find that my light warm ball would be this truth I want to make in my life. As it went on, we did more self discovery on our strengths, our projects and how to plot our projects as well as an action plan to map out certain deadlines and whatnot.
That’s when it hit me: time management.. I’m horrible at it. Yeah, I should work on it, oh no my time it’s fluttering away from me like a butterfly oh noo. Where was I? Right, maybe I should take a look at it, I probably have too many projects under my belt for the amount of time I have, or I procrastinate way more than I should. Hopefully this doesn’t reflect badly on my journey. On the plus side though, it showcases my humanity. I think we have all been there, a period of what I call: The Great Wall. It’s like thought paralysis but worse, you do too much but there’s too little impact.
Now, I think I can start reflecting or journaling my journey here, maybe it will help me in the future, maybe I can show my successes and how journaling has helped me manage the myriad or importances in my life. How my time is shared throughout the various possibilities the various “truths” I’ll engage it moving onward, steadfast and steady. B)
