Started a Substack yesterday

It's been a very fast year, and I cannot believe that we're already mid-way through Feb. I started the year with some goals - primarily one to finish my passion project's first issue by Feb.

I'm not there yet, because like all newbies trying to do something worthwhile, I underestimated the time it would take to get everything done.

But in that pursuit of figuring out how to do all this publication stuff on my own, I've also realized I need to get my foundational personal branding things done first.

So I've been on multiple side quests this past month or two. The latest of which has been setting up my newsletters and making writing a daily habit of mine.

TLDR: I have a Substack.

Honestly, it's kind of daunting to think that I have anything worth saying on a regular basis or to imagine that there are people who would actually want to read what I have to write.

Then again, I've committed myself to this writing profession so I guess I have to cross that hurdle of feeling not good enough.

And to help me with that I actually wrote my first post in my newsletter with some of my worst writing ever. It's not polished, it includes a badly written poem that doesn't actually have a point or a message and it's not the most well thought out post.

But if you'd take a read, that's exactly the kind of post I needed to write for my first one. Because it lowers the expectations, and somehow gives me permission to write freely.

I'm not sure if I'm actually proud of the post or just proud of myself for putting something up and finally jumping into the deep end of being a writer. Either way, I'm proud to say that I feel more confident now and with the first post out of the way - I'm excited to write more!
