Drawing Progress

Here's the progress I go through to make this piece of art. I wanted to make a drawing that features all the characters from a show that inspired me to draw and get my motivation back. Seeing how hot the weather was, I imagined just relaxing at a beach and cooling off in the waters with friends which then gave me the idea of these characters just hanging out at the area having fun. I began my work by drawing characters that were either harder to draw or just bigger than the rest of the characters, I struggled a lot with the gorilla and kaiju since I wasn't used to drawing characters like them. However despite that, I still drew them because it was good to face a challenge, it's how one learns. Then I moved on to the smaller ones before beginning the background, I did my best to draw the background as closely to the show's style that uses a lot of warm pink colours. For how I drew the ocean, I really did not know how to so I took inspiration from Pinterest and replicated the design to mine. My sketch was actually very different to the outcome of the drawing, the blue kaiju was at first pictured to be more in the background, relaxing under an umbrella shade—however I decided that it left her out too much so I decided to let her join the waters with her friends. These characters belong to a show called Next Friday: Magical Meow Meow, except for the black cat character because that's actually my own creation.
