AIESEC is a global platform for young people to develop their leadership potential through practical experiences of many kinds, including internships, volunteering opportunities, and more. Founded in 1948, AIESEC is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization entirely run by youth for youth.

AIESEC in Cambodia is part of the largest youth-run organization in the world. Present in 126 countries, AIESEC has enabled young people to live life-changing experiences by offering international opportunities to students. AIESEC in Cambodia is present in over 20 universities around the country and has a history of 7 years of activating leadership among young people.

With the concept of activating leadership in youth, AIESEC has brought back one of the prestigious conferences, the Asia Pacific Leaders Summit under the theme of “Leadership in Demand”.

Asia Pacific Leaders Summit (APLS) is the annual convening of AIESEC and its leaders from 22 different countries and territories in the Asia Pacific region. The conference is aimed at opening a conversation between dynamic leaders along with different sectors for youth leadership development. For the past 5 years, APLS has been held in Malaysia, Thailand, and Nepal. The 2022 APLS is hosted by AIESEC in Cambodia.

It is a 4 day conference which includes Global Village, Cambodian Night, Gala Night, and World Largest Lesson.

Global Village is a cultural exchange experience for delegates from Asia Pacific countries. Delegates are able to showcase their culture and tradition during this event, and on live via Facebook page.

Cambodian Night had showcased Cambodian culture through music from the 1960s to 2020s. The night ended with Cambodian popular dance & traditional games, which are usually done during Khmer New Year.

Gala Night is the most exciting space for acknowledgement and appreciation for AIESEC in the Asia Pacific that are striving for peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential despite the pandemic outbreak and other struggles that we used to struggle with and are experiencing. The moment that we can enjoy, show support, and cheer for one another as one united region, as we are always HOT TO GO!

World’s Largest Lesson allows delegates to teach Sustainable Development Goals to children at Wat Bo Primary School and Krous Primary Secondary School. The World’s Largest Lesson is a global project to engage all children in learning about the SDGs and using these as a stimulus for both SDG advocacy and local community action. As youths and future leaders, we are dedicated to educating young people about the Global Goals and how they can take part in making the world a better and more sustainable place in the future.

It is such an honor for AIESEC in Cambodia to host such a big event which was held at Siem Reap province, Cambodia. A big round of applause to the conference committee team for organizing this amazing event.
