Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in my first Model United Nations conference in Baguio City π΅π at GYAMUN. I represented the Netherlands π³π± in the UNESCO committee, an experience that truly pushed me beyond my comfort zone.
As a first-time delegate, I learned how to research deeply, think critically, and communicate with clarity and diplomacy. Engaging in debates, drafting resolutions, and collaborating with fellow delegates strengthened my confidence in public speaking and broadened my understanding of global issues and international cooperation.
Looking back, that experience marked an important step in my growth. It sparked a deeper interest in global affairs and reminded me that meaningful dialogue begins with preparation, respect, and open-mindedness.
Grateful for the lessons, the people I met, and the opportunity to represent a nation in such a dynamic and challenging environment. πβ¨
