It has always been a dream of mine to create a space for environmentalists to gather, forge friendships, share knowledge and dream collectively. There was a lot of joy and passion in this cosy space, and we even managed to open up about how we felt about the climate crisis and plan our future steps as a movement. Our participants were making waves in their own ways, pursuing their own interests. We had a transport activist, someone part of a Gen-Z secondhand collective, an environmental law student, someone leading a heat inequality research project, a community farmer, a freegan and more. The conversations sparked that day were not only insightful but inspiring. The people I engaged with that day are still those I would consider my network and people I would ask for advice from or offer my help to.
