using unity to learn how to make games, as well as researching online on tips and troubleshooting for the game creation. I created this project for the game programming module, in my immersive application and games course.

When I initially began conceptualizing my game project for my Immersive Application and Game course, I was driven by a desire to create a truly cohesive and interactive experience that felt polished and responsive for the player. My primary goal was to bridge the gap between my initial creative vision and the technical reality of the game code, which meant I had to be very intentional about how I structured my development process.

To achieve this, I engaged in a constant cycle of iterative development and research, treating every hurdle as an opportunity to refine the gameplay loop. Whenever I encountered complex mechanics that were outside of my current skill set, I leaned heavily on Unity’s technical documentation and various community-driven online forums to deconstruct the problems and find actionable solutions. This research-heavy approach was essential; it allowed me to troubleshoot bugs in real-time and continuously optimize the game’s performance, which was critical to delivering the level of immersion I set out to achieve for this course.

Ultimately, this process taught me that technical proficiency is just as important as creativity in game design. By embracing the challenge of troubleshooting and learning from the wider developer community, I was able to successfully realize my vision and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in professional game development.
