We started the day the fresh with the site visit to the coffee plantation place where we learnt about the luwak coffee and tried various flavors of coffee and tea. This experience deepened my appreciation for the effort that goes into producing of tea and coffee. It also reinforced the idea that these are not just drinks but cultural experiences that connect people worldwide.
In the afternoon, we were introduced to MPH where they mentioned about their waste management practices. This gave us a valuable insight into their approach and commitment towards sustainability. We were tasked to do a presentation on the topic of which of our project is suitable to collaborate with MPH and how we will carry out the collaboration. As we developed our presentation, we focused on how we could integrate more sustainable practices into our project, ensuring that the collaboration would create long-term environmental benefits.
I’d say that highlight of OEIP would be the rice plantation experience we had today. Initially, I was hesitant to go into the paddy field and was unsure of what to do . However, as we braced ourselves and walked around in the field, I felt a deeper appreciation for the hard work involved in rice cultivation. As we worked together, I realized how much effort and care go into the production of something as simple as a bowl of rice.
Overall, today was a day full of new and eye opening experiences.
