I recently had the honor of conducting my Capstone Project workshop on Youth Political Participation at Government Girls Degree College, Turbat, under the banner of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Advocacy Fellowship.

This workshop was designed to spark conversations around youth inclusion in governance, civic engagement, and leadership, with a special focus on empowering young women to actively participate in decision-making processes at both community and national levels.

🔹 Objectives of the Workshop

To raise awareness about the importance of youth voices in political spaces.

To encourage students—especially young women—to see themselves as changemakers and leaders.

To highlight democratic values, civic responsibility, and the role of youth in shaping inclusive policies.

To provide practical insights on how students can engage in advocacy, community initiatives, and leadership roles.

🔹 Key Highlights

Over 40 young women from the college participated enthusiastically, sharing their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of youth involvement in politics.

We held interactive sessions, group discussions, and brainstorming activities on themes like equal representation, breaking stereotypes, and leadership skills.

The session encouraged participants to reflect on how political participation is not limited to voting, but also involves advocacy, community service, awareness campaigns, and dialogue.

🔹 Why This Matters

Youth make up a significant portion of Pakistan’s population, yet their voices often go unheard in policy-making circles. By engaging students from underserved and less-represented regions like Turbat, we are investing in a more inclusive, democratic, and progressive future.

🔹 Personal Reflection

As part of my CAYA Advocacy Fellowship, this workshop wasn’t just a requirement it was a personal commitment to amplify youth voices, especially those of young women in Baluchistan. Seeing their eagerness to learn, share, and lead reinforced my belief that empowered youth can transform societies.

✨ I am grateful to CAYA for this incredible opportunity and to Government Girls Degree College Turbat for their support in making this workshop possible.
