This session cracked open a truth we often brush under the rug that politics isn’t just parliament and protests.

It’s conversations, consultations, community action, and every little effort that challenges the status quo and asks, Couldn’t we do this better?

What hit me the hardest?

  • That people-centered politics won’t exist until we make it youth-powered.
  • That our voices are loud, digital, lived, and necessary.
  • That the system won't change if we keep waiting to grow older, smarter, or more “eligible.” We’re enough now.

    What did I learn?
Youth across South Asia are frustrated like we are, but they’re also fighting back, locally and loudly.

Real participation starts small: with a WhatsApp group, a community cleanup, or a conversation that spirals into action.

Solutions > Complaints. Focus on policy, not just problems.

What I’m doing next:

  • Joining a youth-led org working on local issues.
  • Following policy mentors who simplify the complex.
  • Starting real conversations with peers that turn into real plans.

But more than anything…

I want to be that person who reminds everyone around me that we belong in the room, the table, and the damn agenda.

That this system won’t evolve without us.

That political participation isn’t a luxury, it’s a responsibility.

That from us, comes the future.

So let’s show up. Not later. Now.
