Do you know the poer of media? Do you know how many people in Singapore is getting scammed each year? I do! I participated in a competition, where youths use the power of media to educate masses about the harms and methods to avoid scams. In this process, I learnt more about how to use CapCut ( a video editing app ) and the use of key frames, allowing me to work smart and not hard.

In this competition, I craft up a TikTok video, emphasising the method to act against scams while making use of the trend in the period of time. Instead of a old storyline which illustrates how one is getting scammed, I chose a more trendier method to publicise, using a suitable animation meme which is rather trendy at the time to relate to scams. By making use of "That's Not My Neighbour" animation meme, relating to a game which features the player acting as a doorman, identifing doppelgangers. Similar to avoiding scam, checking every detail to identify if the information is true or not. I combined the two, creating a single video, even putting some easter eggs of similar fan base, just to attract more interaction. Through the method, it allowed the video to gain quite a lot of views and interactions!

Additionally, something surprised me was I was the only individual who recieved the awards! For the other awards, they were in teams and had more people they were able to rely on. With me being the only individual, it actually prove my skills to create content which is to the masses' likings.

Surprisingly, I obtained champion for the tertiary sector! It is quite a pleasent surprise as I was expecting something lower. Nevertheless, in this process, I learnt more about media, the power to entertain and the power to notify. Media should be used to provide to society, creating positive impacts!
