Movers Workshop Reflection

On 31st August 2025, I had the privilege of hosting my Capstone Project Movers Workshop on Youth Political Participation (YPP) as part of the CAYA Advocacy Fellowship.

What began as a workshop quickly transformed into a dynamic platform where over 20 participants including university faculty, youth leaders, organization founders, and passionate young people came together to exchange ideas and experiences.

Session Highlights

• The workshop spanned 2 hours.
• Participants were divided into groups, which encouraged interactive dialogues, teamwork, and critical reflection.
• Each group explored the barriers and opportunities for youth involvement in politics, later presenting their key takeaways to the entire gathering.
• This led to meaningful debates and collaborative learning, with an atmosphere buzzing with curiosity and motivation.

Personal Reflection

Facilitating this workshop was an inspiring journey for me. Witnessing young people openly discuss political challenges, exchange perspectives, and craft potential solutions reaffirmed my belief in the power of youth-driven change.

This being my first Capstone Project under the fellowship, I am especially thankful to CAYA and the Movers Programme. Their support made this initiative truly impactful.

This experience has strengthened my commitment to empower young voices and to continue encouraging meaningful youth participation in political spaces. I feel proud to take another step toward building an inclusive and democratic future.
