Hello Irregulars! For those who don't know, I am one of the Game artist for Harpy Raiders which is available to Wishlist on Steam Now! Over the weekends, I have been manning the booth with my Xinyue (2D art Generalist) and Linus (Project Lead and programmer)
We as a team in Cloud of Pinky manned the booth, showcasing our game demo (which will be released to the public soon) to visitors and spent our time networking and connecting with the local gaming community! Moreover, we showed our concept art for later stages of the game, giving them a sneak peek of what is yet to come for the release of Harpy Raiders. Harpy Raiders was showcased in the Indie Wavemaker’s Alley section- where you would have the chance to discover many wonderful Indie titles from companies all across Asia!
Being in this convention gave me a tangible reminder of how the local gaming scene has grown to be so large in the past few years, especially when I spent the majority of my time online interacting with fandom communities. Seeing the public playing our demo, appreciating the art and effort that we have put into crafting this demo and preparing for today really warms my heart knowing that people enjoyed our game! Boothing at Gamescon Asia was really such a fruitful experience, connecting with other creatives in the industry, training my pitching skills and seeing the fruits of our labour being enjoyed by the community.
This weekend made me look forward to future Games events, where there would be opportunities to connect with the Game development community and the playerbase too!
So if you are an aspiring game developer, game artist, or looking for opportunities in the industry- do come and drop by these networking events like Games Convention or SGGA, you will meet many industry partners and even have a chance to have a taste of newly-released indie games! Hope to see you in these events soon!
P.S: for those who are interested in the E-sports Community, you may even have a chance to meet some E-Sports players too! (yes, that is PRX Alecks and PRX Something!)
