Project Auxilium

Currently a member of a CMPS (community problem solving) team that advocates for children with autism to be integrated into society without being stereotyped. One of our initiative involves writing a book that aims to educate people about common stereotypes and what should be done to avoid it.

The Writing Team decided to write the chapters like a game where a scenario will be shown and based on the option you chose, you would either get a good or a bad ending. At the end of every chapter, little tips on how to help the children will be added in hopes of educating the public.

As a member of the writing team and the editor of the book, this truly gave me an opportunity to improve on writing effectively while being able to incorporate sufficient feelings to engage with readers. This will allow our initiative to be much more impactful and persuasive. At first, this project also ran into multiple difficulties, the pressing one being the team's inability to find an organisation to collaborate with our project. Without a collaborator, we were unable to get a reliable and experienced mentor to guide us in ensuring that our information is correct.

However, this was all resolved after months of relentless calling and emailing as we managed to find a collaborator in the Autism Recovery Network. The project is called Project Auxilium and we can be found on Instagram.

Through this, my ability to develop plots have clearly shown signs of improvement and I have learnt to use multiple platforms like Canva and Slides effectively to promote the project.

My patience and perseverance was put to the test and I also gained some communication skills. To score yourself a collaborator, you had to be persuasive in your words. These were the key takeaways from this project.
