My cca

I was in Chinese orchestra percussion section and in the 4 years of my cca experience, I've learned the various Chinese percussion instruments and the various Chinese orchestra songs during my time in the orchestra. I really enjoyed my time in this cca as I got to make new friends and play these different instruments such as the Da Gu and xylophone.

My Instructor was also kind and taught us all the different notes for the various instruments and how to read the new music sheets. My cca even went for some competitions such as Singapore Youth Festival(SYF) and even got to perform at esplanade.

My cca also performed every year at oasis terrace with the angklung and choir cca and at the end we, all three ccas would combine and perform one last song. The biggest performance my cca ever had was when all the performing arts cca had to do a musical at republic poly. It was the biggest performance we've ever done and it was quite chaotic and fun since it was the last performance I did before I stand down from the cca to focus on my n levels.

One of the struggles I had to handle was one of the performances after I'd step down from the cca. during the time I was doing my prelims, The teacher in charged of the cca asked me if i could come back to play the drumset for their upcoming performances which was the day after I finish my prelims. I had only one day of practice to complete 3 songs with no idea of what to do but i somehow managed through the whole thing.

Inconclusion, I learnt alot about percussion instruments and really loved my time in the Chinese orchestra.
