On 28 May 2025, my teammate Yu Ting and I had the incredible opportunity to represent ITE College Central as finalists in the National AI Student Challenge (NAISC) organized by AI Singapore.
when i initially started the competition,i was scared and nervous of how our outcome will be as students who don't really know the concept of predictive maintenance. We had to stay back at times to plan out, find solutions and making slides. I knew i wanted to make a maintenance model to help factory machine downtime.
But NAISC wasn’t just about the competition.
We also attended an AI Talent Conference, where we got exclusive insights on recruitment strategies, skills selection, and career tips from top leaders — including the Regional HR Leader at Google and senior speakers from NCS Group and ASEAN Cloud Engineering.
Although we didn’t win, competing alongside university teams was a proud achievement. We gained hands-on AI experience, presented on a national stage, and learned from top industry leaders at the AI Talent Conference. It was an inspiring journey into the real-world impact of AI across multiple industries. It really made me think how ai have integrated in our lives. Two of the things that i would change if i was to do this competition again is to learn more about the topics/software to share more of my outcome of our process behind it and to read thrice or as much as times as i can of reading what is required.
