Day 5

Today’s experience at Merah Putih Hijau was amazing! Firstly, we got to learn how the company operates, their values, and their mission. It was very heartening to see a community working on waste management.

The activity where we brainstormed ideas on how we could manage waste in Singapore was very meaningful. Having the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and think about how we could make use of waste and educate society benefited me on both a personal and professional level.

The most memorable moments were when we stepped out into the field and experienced how waste management is operated. We laughed about how we weren’t used to it, and seeing friends sink into the mud was both a great learning experience and a lot of fun.

Through this experience, I realized how lucky I am and how contented I should be with what I have.

On top of that, this experience has motivated me to bring back the values and mission I learned and apply them in Singapore, or at least in my everyday life.
