Generally, when we travel via private vehicles or public transportation, we often reflect things in our life. And here is what I have thought of recently:
Earlier, when I was on my way to GYUD UP Food Hub for the career building and personal development workshop, I was thinking of what will happen to me during the session. Will my performance improve? Will I be able to participate? Will I inspire other people? Will this workshop help me as a Professional Teacher?
But the moment I arrived, people in the workshop were accommodating; I didn't feel intimidated. I felt like I belonged. I was able to share what I know, and I was also able to learn from them as well. We shared laughs, experiences, dreams, and special mention: Potato Corner (our favorite flavored fries.)
Looking back to what I thought of earlier, I was being selfish. I was thinking of what are they going to learn from me—I was being self-centered. But it was really about the wisdom I will get from the people I meet for the first time. It was about the bond that we will make, not the contributions that I can give.
So, what did I learn from driving? In driving, we focus so much on the destination that we treat everyone else on the road as obstacles. But life isn't a solo commute; it's a shared ride.
