I registered at KAWSA's event: Claim Your Space: The Role of Women, Men, and the LGBTQIA+ Community in the Movement for Safe Spaces, not knowing exactly what I should do, but I did anyway.

And when the day came (yesterday, April 18), I messed things up.

I read the email too late — three hours after the summit had already started.

I was terrified, yet I still attended.
Not because I had to, but because I genuinely wanted to.

But as I stayed, listened, and tried to catch up, I realized that movements like this are not built on perfect timing, but on people who choose to show up anyway.

Just as the summit emphasized, the space is already ours to claim — and even in my uncertainty, I became part of a growing movement that believes in safer spaces, radical respect, and the power of youth to lead.
