Finance Workshop for Church

I have been tasked to design an EDM for the Finance Workshop that we will be conducting for my Young Adults Zone in church. I am part of the planning community for this event and I have come up with a design that can make it look attractive for people to invite their friends to come to. One difficulty I had faced was working together with someone with no designing experience. I had to guide her and also ensure she also has a small contribution in making this EDM. But with my patience and understanding, I was able to guide her and teach her how to use Canva. This is the result.

Through this project, I had the opportunity to hone both my technical and soft skills.

Technically, I further developed my expertise in using Canva for design purposes, specifically designing an Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) to promote an event. This project allowed me to explore elements like visuals, layout, and messaging to create an attractive and informative piece.

On the soft skills side, this project was a valuable learning experience in mentorship and collaboration. I was tasked with guiding someone with no design experience, fostering a collaborative environment where they could contribute. This tested my patience and communication skills as I ensured clear instructions and feedback while encouraging their participation. By fostering this collaboration, I was able to successfully teach them basic Canva skills and create an impactful EDM together.
