Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, platform, services and features operated by River Valley Irregulars Pte. Ltd. (“RVI”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collectively referred to as the “Platform”.

By creating an account, accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not access or use the Platform.

RVI provides a youth-focused platform through which users may create profiles, discover and participate in programmes, events and opportunities, develop and showcase skills, connect with organisations and communities, and access other features made available by RVI.

RVI may introduce, modify or discontinue Platform features from time to time.

You may be required to create an account to access certain Platform features.

You agree to provide information that is accurate and reasonably current and to update such information where necessary.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and should not knowingly allow another person to access your account without authorisation.

You must promptly notify RVI if you believe that your account has been accessed or used without authorisation.

RVI may establish additional requirements for users of particular programmes, services or features.

RVI may allow users to create or access their accounts using third-party authentication providers, including Google and other supported services.

Your use of a third-party authentication service may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of that provider.

RVI does not receive or store passwords belonging to your Google Account or other third-party authentication accounts.

Information received through third-party authentication services is handled in accordance with the RVI Privacy Policy.

You must use the Platform responsibly and lawfully.

You must not use the Platform to:

(a) violate applicable laws or regulations;

(b) impersonate another person or organisation;

(c) provide materially false or misleading information;

(d) harass, threaten, abuse or harm another person;

(e) publish unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene or otherwise inappropriate material;

(f) infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;

(g) distribute malware or attempt to compromise the security or operation of the Platform;

(h) attempt to obtain unauthorised access to another account, system or information;

(i) scrape, harvest or systematically collect information from the Platform without authorisation;

(j) misuse Personal Data obtained through the Platform; or

(k) use the Platform in a manner that RVI reasonably considers harmful to users, partners, the Platform or the RVI community.

RVI may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action where necessary.

Users may be able to create profiles and submit information, text, photographs, documents, links and other materials (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of User Content that you own.

By submitting User Content to the Platform, you grant RVI a non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format and otherwise process that content to the extent reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Platform and its services.

You are responsible for ensuring that User Content you submit is lawful and that you have the necessary rights or permissions to submit it.

RVI may remove or restrict access to User Content where reasonably necessary for legal, safety, privacy, security or Platform-integrity reasons.

Certain Platform features may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) or machine-learning technologies to provide suggestions, recommendations or generated information.

RVI currently uses Google Gemini Flash through the Gemini API to support certain AI-assisted functionality, including generating suggested skills based on information contained within a user’s RVI profile.

Where a user chooses to use an AI-assisted feature, relevant information may be processed for the purpose of generating the requested output.

AI-generated information may be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate. Users are responsible for reviewing AI-generated suggestions before accepting, publishing or relying upon them.

An AI-generated skill, description or recommendation does not constitute verification, accreditation, certification or an assessment by RVI of a user’s abilities, qualifications or competencies.

Where functionality is available, users may accept, edit, reject or remove AI-generated suggestions.

RVI does not use AI-generated skill suggestions to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on users.

RVI may modify, restrict, replace, suspend or discontinue an AI-powered feature where reasonably necessary because of changes to technology, third-party provider requirements, legal or regulatory requirements, safety considerations or operational requirements.

Certain AI-powered features may be subject to eligibility or age restrictions.

The processing of Personal Data in connection with AI-powered features is described further in the RVI Privacy Policy.

The Platform may allow users to discover or register for programmes, events, jobs, internships, volunteering opportunities and other activities provided by RVI or third parties.

Where an opportunity is provided by a third party, that third party is responsible for the opportunity and any applicable eligibility requirements, selection processes, terms or arrangements unless expressly stated otherwise.

The presence of an opportunity on the Platform does not necessarily constitute endorsement or verification by RVI.

Users should assess whether an opportunity is suitable for their individual circumstances before participating.

RVI may allow organisations, institutions, community groups and other approved partners to establish or participate in “Collectives” on the Platform.

Collectives may be used to publish programmes, events, opportunities, jobs, resources and other information.

Collective Partners and administrators may be subject to additional RVI Collective Partner Terms.

Where RVI personnel assist with administering a Collective or publishing information on behalf of a Collective Partner, such assistance does not transfer responsibility for the underlying programme, event, opportunity or information to RVI unless expressly agreed otherwise.

RVI collects, uses, discloses, processes and protects Personal Data in accordance with the RVI Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

Users must not collect, use, export, disclose or otherwise process Personal Data obtained through the Platform except where authorised by RVI and permitted by applicable law.

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Platform and its underlying content, branding, designs, software and materials are owned by or licensed to RVI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of RVI intellectual property to users.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, commercially exploit or otherwise use RVI intellectual property except with permission or as permitted by law.

RVI seeks to maintain the availability and reliability of the Platform but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Platform may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, third-party service disruptions, security matters or circumstances outside RVI’s reasonable control.

RVI may modify or discontinue features as the Platform develops.

RVI may restrict, suspend or terminate access to the Platform where reasonably necessary, including where a user:

(a) materially breaches these Terms;

(b) misuses the Platform;

(c) creates a safety or security risk;

(d) infringes the rights of others;

(e) misuses Personal Data; or

(f) engages in conduct that may materially harm RVI, its users, partners or Platform.

Where reasonably practicable and appropriate, RVI may provide notice before taking such action.

Users may request account deletion or exercise applicable rights concerning their Personal Data by contacting RVI in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Deletion of an account may result in loss of access to profile information, programmes, opportunities and other Platform functionality.

Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary or required for legal, security, operational or record-keeping purposes.

The Platform is provided on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, RVI does not guarantee that information, opportunities, AI-generated suggestions or third-party content available through the Platform will always be accurate, complete or suitable for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RVI will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from the use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

RVI may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, services, technology, legal requirements or operational practices.

The latest version will be published on the Platform with its effective date.

Where changes materially affect users’ rights or obligations, RVI will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
